ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A deadly head-on crash in northeast Rochester has claimed the life of a 58-year-old man, according to the Rochester Police Department. The victim, identified as Otis Johnson, died after his vehicle was struck by another car that veered into his lane early Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred around 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of Clifford Avenue and Sixth Street. Investigators say a woman driving westbound on Clifford Avenue crossed into the eastbound lane for reasons that remain unclear, resulting in a head-on crash with Johnson’s vehicle. Johnson was the only occupant in his car.
Emergency crews responded quickly and transported both drivers to Strong Memorial Hospital. Tragically, Johnson succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The woman, believed to be in her 30s, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized. Her identity has not yet been released, and no charges have been filed as of Friday morning.
