I was shot today in my head & hand. I’m in a lot of pain and have surgery scheduled for the morning. My hearing is gone, but I’m really glad to be alive for my kids,” Jackson wrote, showing remarkable resilience in the face of his injuries.
The Easley Police Department (EPD) confirmed that the suspect involved in the shooting also fired shots at an EPD officer earlier that same day. Thankfully, the officer was not hit in the exchange, but the situation was still tense as authorities worked to locate the suspect.
Later in the day, law enforcement officials pursued the suspect, who was driving a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. The chase culminated in a collision with a semi-truck on Highway 176 in Landrum, South Carolina. According to family members of the couple driving the truck, they were shaken but unharmed in the crash.
