PILOT OAK, KY — A tragic motorcycle crash on Thursday, May 29, claimed the life of 52-year-old Tina M. Mouser of Dukedom, Kentucky. The accident occurred just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of KY 129 and KY 94 in the small Graves County community of Pilot Oak.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, Mouser was operating a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle and was traveling northeast through a curve when her vehicle crossed the center line. Simultaneously, a 25-year-old woman from Dresden, Tennessee, was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban in the opposite direction with two juveniles onboard. The motorcycle collided head-on with the Suburban’s front driver’s side.
Deputies say the impact was severe. Mouser, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene from her injuries. The driver of the Suburban and her passengers were unharmed. Authorities did not release further details about their identities, citing the ongoing investigation. Emergency responders, including local deputies and medical personnel, arrived quickly and shut down the intersection to conduct a thorough investigation. The road remained closed until approximately 2:40 p.m. The sheriff’s office has not commented on whether road or weather conditions played a role in the crash.
Initial findings indicate the crash was unavoidable from the SUV driver’s perspective, and no charges have been filed. Investigators believe the accident was caused when Mouser’s motorcycle veered out of her lane in the curve. Authorities are continuing to review evidence to determine the exact cause.
The community is mourning the sudden loss of Mouser, whose death is a sobering reminder of the dangers motorcyclists face. Even with proper safety equipment, riders are vulnerable to fatal injuries in collisions with larger vehicles. Officials emphasized the importance of staying alert, especially on rural highways where curves and limited visibility can increase risks.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office thanked the emergency crews who responded to the scene and assisted in the aftermath. Funeral arrangements for Mouser have not yet been announced, and it remains unclear whether an autopsy will be performed. The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates may be released in the coming days.
