EAGLE, Idaho — June 5, 2025 — The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred earlier this week in Eagle. Kyle Dabney, 32, died at the scene after a collision with a pickup truck at a busy intersection. The coroner listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma sustained during the crash.
The incident happened at the intersection of Floating Feather Road and Highway 55 on Monday. According to initial reports from the Eagle Police Department, Dabney was riding a BMW RR motorcycle southbound on Highway 55 when a red 2020 Chevrolet Silverado attempted a turn onto W. Floating Feather Road. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, resulting in Dabney being thrown from his motorcycle.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene following multiple 911 calls around the time of the crash. Despite life-saving efforts, Dabney was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries. Authorities confirmed he was wearing protective gear at the time of the accident, but the impact was too severe for survival.
The 46-year-old driver of the pickup truck remained on the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement. Police stated that there were no immediate signs of impairment, and the driver did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No arrests have been made, and the driver’s name has not yet been released.
Following the crash, several lanes around the intersection were temporarily closed as investigators collected evidence and spoke to witnesses. A collision reconstruction team was brought in to document the scene, and officers photographed the area and measured vehicle positions to determine fault. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation.
Authorities are urging any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact the Ada County Sheriff’s Office with any additional information. They also reminded drivers to remain alert, particularly at intersections where motorcyclists are often less visible.
The loss of Kyle Dabney has sent shockwaves through the local community, where he was known as a passionate rider and active member of several motorcycle groups. Friends and family have expressed deep grief, remembering him as a kind and adventurous spirit. A memorial ride is reportedly being planned in his honor.
