
RICHARDSON, TX — A 27-year-old Plano woman lost her life early Saturday morning in a tragic motorcycle crash on North Central Expressway, and an Allen man is now facing serious charges in connection with the incident. According to the Richardson Police Department, officers responded to the crash scene at approximately 4:51 a.m. on June 7 in the 2400 block of northbound US-75.
Upon arrival, they found a woman deceased at the scene. She was later identified as Cody Morris, the sole rider of the motorcycle. No other vehicles or individuals were initially found near the crash site. Just under an hour later, at about 5:39 a.m., the Plano Police Department received a call from 25-year-old Kelvin Joseph Jr., a resident of Allen.
Joseph admitted that he had been involved in the crash earlier that morning. Officers from Richardson quickly coordinated with Plano authorities to make contact with him. Investigators determined that Joseph had been driving a BMW sedan on North Central Expressway and had collided with Morris’s motorcycle. During questioning, officers observed signs of intoxication, leading to Joseph’s arrest. He now faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, and Collision Involving Personal Injury or Death, which is a second-degree felony under Texas law.
The Richardson Police Department’s Special Crash Investigation Team is continuing to examine the details of the incident. Investigators are working to understand the sequence of events and to gather evidence from the scene and surrounding area. Authorities have not yet released information about how the collision occurred or whether speed or other factors were involved.
