According to the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office, emergency responders were called to the scene following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. Epperson sustained critical injuries in the collision and, despite efforts to save him, was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was later confirmed by Coroner Chris Hill, who identified him publicly on Monday.
