VERMILION COUNTY, IL – A 35-year-old Indiana man lost his life in a tragic two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning on Interstate 74. Authorities have identified the victim as Isaiah Edmond, a resident of Indiana. The Champaign County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity following the fatal accident.
The crash occurred just before 4 a.m. on the westbound lanes of I-74 near milepost 201, close to Fithian, Illinois. According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the collision involved a passenger car and a tractor-trailer. However, officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash or disclosed which vehicle Edmond was in at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Edmond to the Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department.
