
BESSEMER, AL – Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man on Interstate 59/20 North near Academy Drive. The accident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. on March 18, 2025.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the wrecked vehicle with only one occupant inside. The driver, identified as Terence Bernard Summers, had sustained serious injuries. Paramedics transported him to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he was pronounced dead at 2:12 p.m.
