
LOCKHART, Texas — Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager at City Park in Lockhart early Friday morning. According to the Lockhart Police Department, Aaron Jose Lopez, 19, has been charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the death of 19-year-old Michael Glasscock.
Police responded to the park on East City Park Road around 2 a.m. after receiving information about a deceased individual. Upon arrival, officers discovered Glasscock’s body with apparent gunshot wounds. Following an initial investigation, authorities developed probable cause to arrest Lopez, who was later taken into custody and formally charged.
Officials confirmed that the scene has been processed, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The Texas Rangers and the Caldwell County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation, which remains active. This incident marks Lockhart’s first homicide of 2025.
