Berkeley County, SC – A fatal multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Summerville claimed the life of a Goose Creek woman, authorities confirmed. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Jessica Lambon, who was killed in the collision on Treeland Drive.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the crash occurred around 12:58 a.m. on March 23 and involved three vehicles. A GMC truck and a Cadillac SUV were traveling east, while Lambon was driving a Toyota sedan westbound. The impact of the crash caused severe damage to the vehicles, and emergency responders rushed to the scene. Lambon suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on-site.
The driver of the GMC truck and their passenger were unharmed in the accident. However, the driver of the Cadillac SUV, who was also alone in the vehicle, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released details about their condition. Investigators have not confirmed whether speed, alcohol, or other factors played a role in the crash.
Residents in the area expressed concern about road safety along Treeland Drive, noting that accidents have occurred there in the past. Some community members urged officials to assess traffic conditions and consider additional safety measures. “It’s heartbreaking to hear about another tragedy on our roads,” said local resident Mark Stevens. “Drivers need to be more cautious, especially late at night.”
Both the SCHP and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office are actively investigating the crash to determine the exact cause. Officials will examine vehicle data, road conditions, and any potential driver negligence. Authorities have urged anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to come forward.
As the investigation continues, friends and family of Lambon are mourning her tragic loss. Loved ones described her as a kind and compassionate person who always put others first. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced, but those who knew her are expected to gather to honor her memory.
