BEAUFORT, S.C. — A 68-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash that occurred last Wednesday afternoon in Beaufort County. Authorities have identified the victim as Allen Szczepek, a resident of Beaufort. The fatal accident happened along Trask Parkway (U.S. Highway 21) near the intersection with Glass Road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 4:33 p.m. on June 12. Szczepek was riding his motorcycle northbound on the highway when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle. His motorcycle veered off the right side of the road, and he was thrown from the bike. The crash involved no other vehicles.
Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene and transported Szczepek to Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office confirmed that he died as a result of blunt force trauma sustained during the crash. His death marks another tragic loss on South Carolina roadways this year.
