Around 1:30 a.m., Duluth Police were called to the 100 block of East 3rd Street following reports of multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Cody Telega suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders provided immediate aid and rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police confirmed that a second man was also targeted in the shooting. Although he was shot at, he was not injured. His identity has not been released, but authorities say he is cooperating with the investigation. The police have emphasized that the shooting was not random and that all parties involved were known to one another.
Following a rapid investigation, police identified and located two suspects: 35-year-old Antonio Duryea Hendon and 41-year-old Amber Michele Rose Walker. Hendon is facing charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Walker is being held on charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder. Both are currently booked at the St. Louis County Jail. Investigators believe a previous dispute between the individuals may have played a role in the fatal shooting, though specific details have not yet been disclosed.
The Duluth Police Department, alongside other agencies, continues to gather evidence, review surveillance footage, and interview witnesses. They are encouraging anyone with additional information or video footage of the incident to come forward. Meanwhile, the Duluth community mourns the sudden loss of Cody Telega, remembering him as a local resident whose life was taken far too soon.
