The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim as 36-year-old Brittney Shuler, a resident of Hinesville, Georgia.
The incident took place on Saturday evening, when Shuler was driving a Ford sedan eastbound on Highway 170. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred when a westbound Ford truck attempted to make a left turn onto Callawassie Drive and struck Shuler’s vehicle. The impact of the crash was severe and resulted in multiple injuries.
Shuler was one of four people inside the Ford sedan at the time of the collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash was reported, but despite efforts to assist her, Shuler was pronounced dead on the scene due to the extent of her injuries.
