Goodyear Heights, Ohio – A shocking act of violence in the Goodyear Heights neighborhood on June 7 has left a 22-year-old man dead and another injured. The victim of the fatal stabbing has been identified as Dierre Williams, according to Gary Guenther of the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. This tragic event has shaken the community and led to the quick arrest of a suspect.
The violent incident unfolded in the early morning hours. Around 1 a.m., Akron police officers were sent to a home on Bee Bee Circle after receiving urgent calls about a man allegedly attacking his mother. According to a press release from the Akron Police Department, the argument had become very serious, with a knife being used.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers found two men suffering from multiple stab wounds. These victims were later identified as Dierre Williams and a 44-year-old man. Sadly, Williams, who was severely injured, could not be saved and was pronounced dead right there at the scene. The second victim, who is the stepfather of the suspect, survived the attack, though his current condition is unknown.
Authorities revealed that Dierre Williams was a roommate of the suspect, identified as Antoine Pixley. Following the horrific attack, Pixley quickly fled the home in a vehicle, triggering an urgent search by Akron police, who worked with other local law enforcement agencies. Pixley’s vehicle was later found abandoned on the 3100 block of Gilchrist Road, and inside, officers discovered a knife believed to be the weapon used in the stabbings.
Even though his vehicle was found, Pixley was not with it. Police then used a K9 unit, a specially trained dog, and began a foot chase. After a brief search, police successfully caught and arrested Pixley. He has since been charged with serious crimes including murder, felonious assault (a serious attack), and domestic violence in connection with this deadly incident.
The investigation is still in its early stages as authorities work to understand all the events that led to this deadly confrontation. It’s not yet clear what might have caused the argument to turn so violent, and police haven’t said whether drugs or alcohol played a role. This incident serves as a grim reminder that domestic violence can quickly become devastating. Akron police are urging anyone experiencing domestic abuse to seek help immediately from law enforcement or support organizations. Updates on the case will be provided as the legal process moves forward.
