Limerick Township, PA — June 5, 2025 — A heartbreaking memorial continues to grow at the site of a tragic car crash in Limerick Township that claimed the lives of three teenagers. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office identified the victims as Gabriel Cooper, Nasir Youk, and Saniyah Newsuan, all 17 years old. The coroner confirmed that all three died from blunt force trauma after their vehicle crashed during a police chase.
The deadly incident happened around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday night in the 300 block of Ridge Pike. Police say the car had been fleeing after a suspected theft at a nearby Target store. Just minutes earlier, at 9:06 p.m., Limerick Township Police had responded to a 911 call reporting a theft at the store in Royersford. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle connected to the report, but the driver sped away, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
Moments later, the fleeing vehicle crashed with great force, killing the three teens. A fourth passenger, a 15-year-old boy who is believed to have been the driver, survived but was critically injured. He remains hospitalized. Two of the teens were students at Owen J. Roberts High School, while the third had previously attended the same school. The school district has offered grief counseling and shared condolences with students, families, and staff.
Montgomery County detectives are now investigating the crash. Authorities are reviewing body camera footage, dashcam video, and other evidence to determine exactly what happened. A key part of the investigation is examining whether police followed pursuit protocols during the incident.
In the days since the tragedy, a roadside memorial has formed at the crash site. Community members have left flowers, candles, balloons, and stuffed animals to honor the young lives lost. Friends, classmates, and neighbors have also gathered to share stories and support one another during this difficult time.
To further honor the victims, a balloon release is planned for Friday afternoon in Spring City. This event will bring together family, friends, and members of the community to remember Gabriel, Nasir, and Saniyah. As the investigation continues, the community remains united in grief, searching for healing and answers in the wake of an unthinkable loss.
