KERSHAW COUNTY, SC — June 15, 2025 — A heartbreaking wrong-way crash late Saturday night on Interstate 20 has left two people dead and sparked a full-scale investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The deadly incident has raised serious questions about highway safety and the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 9:27 p.m. when Kershaw County’s 911 center received several calls reporting a car traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-20 near Exit 87. Within minutes, a catastrophic head-on collision was reported, involving the wrong-way driver and another vehicle traveling in the correct direction.
Officials identified the wrong-way driver as 25-year-old Kenneth Anthony Bradshaw of Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the crash. Investigators are still working to determine how Bradshaw ended up going the wrong way on the interstate and whether impairment, confusion, or other factors played a role.
The second driver, 34-year-old Jaquitta Henry, was critically injured and rushed to a hospital in Columbia. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles, and no other cars were involved in the crash.
Photos from the scene show extensive damage to both vehicles, with debris scattered across multiple lanes. The collision forced the closure of a section of I-20 for several hours as troopers, emergency personnel, and crash investigators responded to the scene. Authorities are currently awaiting toxicology reports and reviewing any available surveillance or dashcam footage to better understand what happened.
Wrong-way crashes are rare but often deadly due to the high speeds and forceful nature of the impacts. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is urging all drivers to stay alert, especially at night, and to immediately report any unusual or dangerous driving behavior they witness on the road.
As families mourn the loss of two lives, community members are left with sorrow and concern. Anyone with information that may help investigators is encouraged to contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers. The investigation remains ongoing.
