A tragic motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a Cincinnati man in Franklin County, Indiana. The incident occurred on June 1 around 2:54 p.m. along State Road 252 near Raymond Road, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, 67-year-old Jeffery D. Ogle was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson westbound on S.R. 252 when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the motorcycle. The vehicle veered off the north side of the roadway and collided with a fence. Ogle was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the impact.
Emergency responders from the Drewersburg Volunteer Fire Department and Letts EMS arrived at the scene quickly. Despite their efforts, Ogle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. Authorities confirmed that he was the sole individual involved in the crash, and no other vehicles were implicated.
State Road 252 was closed for approximately an hour and a half while deputies conducted their investigation and cleared the scene. The cause of the crash remains undetermined, and officials have not yet stated whether speed, road conditions, or a medical issue may have played a role. The motorcycle will likely be examined for mechanical faults as part of the ongoing investigation.
This fatal incident underscores the dangers that motorcyclists face, particularly on rural roads with limited shoulders and variable terrain. Law enforcement agencies often remind riders to wear proper safety gear, remain vigilant, and maintain safe speeds—especially when traveling alone or in unfamiliar areas.

As the investigation continues, his family and friends are mourning the loss of a man remembered for his passion for the open road.
