BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A late-night shooting in south Bakersfield has left a woman dead and sparked an active investigation by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on Saturday, April 5, 2025, outside Blue Clouds Market on Wible Road, just south of Belle Terrace.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 11:00 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the market’s parking lot. The woman, later identified as Jessica Arevalos, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
