FLINT, Mich. — A violent shooting at the Richert Manor apartment complex has left one man dead and two others wounded in what authorities are calling an active investigation. Flint police responded to the 900 block of Court Street around 4 a.m. Sunday after reports of gunfire shattered the early morning quiet.
Officers arrived to find three gunshot victims at the scene. Keviance Williams, 23, of Flint was pronounced dead at the complex. An 18-year-old Flint man remains hospitalized in serious condition, while another 23-year-old victim is expected to recover from non-life threatening injuries.
The Michigan State Police and Flint Major Case Unit have not identified any suspects or established a motive for the attack. Crime scene investigators spent hours processing evidence as detectives canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance footage.
“This senseless violence has no place in our community,” said Flint Police Chief Terence Green. “We’re asking anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward.”
The shooting marks Flint’s third homicide investigation this month, continuing a troubling trend of gun violence in the city. Community activists plan to hold a peace walk at the complex this week to honor Williams and call for an end to neighborhood violence.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Michigan State Police at 810-280-0063 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL. A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
