Dellwood, MO – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the victim in a recent deadly shooting in Dellwood as 19-year-old Lafranz Deandre Wilson Jr., a resident of Florissant. The tragic incident has left the local community shaken as investigators continue to search for answers and those responsible.
Officers with the North County Police Cooperative were called to the scene following reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they launched a full investigation, which included canvassing the neighborhood, collecting physical evidence, and interviewing witnesses who may have seen or heard the shooting unfold.
During the investigation, detectives recovered 24 shell casings at the scene, along with three firearms. One of the guns was found to be equipped with a Machinegun Conversion Device — an illegal attachment that can turn a semi-automatic weapon into a fully automatic one. This discovery has raised serious concerns about the level of firepower involved in the shooting and the danger posed to the public.
All known facts and evidence have since been handed over to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where the case remains under active review. Authorities have not announced any arrests or named any suspects at this time, and the motive behind the shooting is still unclear.
As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials have expressed concern over inappropriate social media posts circulating online. Some individuals have made tasteless jokes and references to violent video games like Grand Theft Auto in connection to Wilson’s death. Police have strongly condemned these actions, calling them disrespectful and hurtful to the grieving family and community.
Wilson’s death adds to the growing number of young lives lost to gun violence in the St. Louis area. Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist in the case. Community members are also being encouraged to report any suspicious activity or online content that may be related to the crime. As detectives work to uncover the truth, the community is left mourning a promising life cut far too short.
