HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A police chase early Sunday morning led to the arrest of two men connected to a reported shooting on Hammonds Avenue. The incident began just before 6 a.m. when the Huntsville Police Department received a call about a possible shooting in progress at an occupied residence.
Responding officers arrived at the scene quickly and identified a suspect vehicle fleeing the area. A pursuit was initiated, with officers following the suspects through city streets. The chase ended near the University of Alabama in Huntsville campus, at the intersection of Sparkman Drive and Holmes Avenue. After the vehicle came to a stop, both suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended shortly thereafter.
The individuals taken into custody were identified as 23-year-old Quayvion Miller and 18-year-old Keonte Jackie Mosley. During the investigation, officers recovered evidence inside the vehicle linking both men to the shooting. Police confirmed that multiple rounds had been fired into an occupied home on Hammonds Avenue, though no injuries were reported.
According to the Huntsville Police Department, the residence was occupied at the time of the shooting, making the event particularly dangerous. Officers praised the rapid response and coordination of patrol units and the Criminal Investigations Division in locating and arresting the suspects before any further harm could occur.
Miller and Mosley were each charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, a serious felony under Alabama law. Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing and that additional charges may be filed depending on the findings. Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting but are continuing to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
This incident marks another example of law enforcement’s commitment to responding swiftly to violent crime and ensuring community safety. The Huntsville Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the shooting or the suspects to come forward.
