
BARBOUR COUNTY, Ala. — A Sunday evening crash claimed the life of 42-year-old Shannon Napper of Eufaula. The fatal accident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on March 23 along Cottonhill Road near Nolan Road, about three miles west of Eufaula.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) troopers, Napper’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact and was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
The ALEA Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. While the exact cause remains undetermined, troopers are examining multiple factors including potential mechanical issues, road conditions, and driver impairment. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
