CLINTON COUNTY, OH – A tragic collision between an SUV and a tractor in Clinton County on Monday morning claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) confirmed that the crash occurred at approximately 8:56 a.m. at the intersection of Second Creek Road and Tar Pike in Marion Township.
According to investigators, a tractor traveling northwest on Tar Pike failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with an eastbound SUV on Second Creek Road. The impact resulted in severe damage to the SUV, which was pushed off the roadway. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to assist.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Shelby L. Miller of Wilmington, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that she was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the tractor’s driver was uninjured in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Emergency responders from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Blanchester Fire and EMS, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted at the scene. The intersection remained closed for several hours while investigators collected evidence and cleared debris.
Authorities have not yet determined whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure played a role in the accident. However, they continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the tractor failing to stop at the intersection.
The OSP is urging anyone with additional information about the crash to contact their Wilmington Post. As the investigation unfolds, officials remind all drivers to exercise caution at intersections and obey traffic signs to prevent further tragedies.
