Authorities identified the victim as Solomon Lanham, who was fatally shot near Essie McIntire Boulevard and Luckey Street. Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area after receiving multiple calls about gunfire around 10:39 p.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Lanham lying on the ground, unresponsive, with a gunshot wound. Emergency crews rushed to provide aid and transported him to Wellstar Emergency Room. Despite the efforts of first responders, Lanham was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m., according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy has been scheduled to officially determine the cause of death.
