Authorities in Battle Ground have released the names of two individuals found dead inside a home earlier this week. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as 37-year-old Tiffany Vela and 37-year-old Spencer Jones. Both victims died from “multiple sharp force injuries,” and the case is being investigated as a double homicide.
Police were called to the residence on the 2100 block of Northeast 2nd Avenue just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, following a 911 call reporting a medical emergency. According to officials, the caller stated that multiple people were down inside the home, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement and emergency medical services.
Inside the home, officers discovered the bodies of Vela and Jones, along with a third individual suffering from life-threatening injuries. That person was later identified as 40-year-old Evaristo “Junior” Vela. Authorities announced Wednesday that he is the suspect in the fatal attacks. He was transported to the hospital, where he remains under medical care. His current condition has not been released.
Investigators have not disclosed any potential motives for the violence. However, the shared last name between Tiffany Vela and Evaristo Vela suggests a possible familial relationship. Authorities have not confirmed whether the two were related or what connection Spencer Jones may have had to the suspect.
The Clark County Major Crimes Team is leading the investigation, working closely with local police to piece together what happened. Detectives are gathering evidence and conducting interviews to determine the sequence of events leading to the double homicide. At this time, no charges have been filed, and investigators are awaiting further updates on Evaristo Vela’s medical status.
Neighbors expressed shock over the incident, describing the area as generally peaceful. Police reassured the community that there is no active threat to public safety and that the incident appears to be isolated. Officers have asked residents to remain alert and report any relevant information to law enforcement.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Clark County Sheriff’s Office or submit anonymous tips through local crime reporting channels. As the investigation continues, the community is left grappling with the tragic loss of two lives and awaiting further answers.
