
BROCKTON, Mass. — Two teenagers were fatally shot Saturday evening in the parking lot of Westgate Mall following a large altercation. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office identified the victims as 15-year-old Tymari Albertson and 18-year-old Cevannah Alvarez, whose lives were cut short in the violent incident that unfolded around 7 p.m.
Witnesses reported the shooting occurred after a fight broke out among a group of teenagers near the Starbucks and Chipotle restaurants. Many of those involved had reportedly just attended the grand opening of Urban Air Adventure Park across the street. Albertson, a student at Brockton High School, died at the scene, while Alvarez passed away later at a nearby hospital.
The tragedy has devastated the Brockton community, particularly the school district where Albertson was enrolled. Brockton Public Schools announced it would provide grief counseling services to students and staff, calling the loss “deeply painful” for the entire school community.
