MARION COUNTY, KY — June 7, 2025 — A devastating two-vehicle crash in Marion County on Saturday morning has left one man dead and another in custody. The collision occurred just after 10 a.m. at the intersection of US 68 and the Lebanon Bypass, according to the Kentucky State Police (KSP).
Authorities say 26-year-old Justin Baron was driving a Dodge Ram westbound on US 68 when he approached the intersection at a high speed. As he attempted to turn right onto the Lebanon Bypass, Baron reportedly lost control of the truck, crashing into a GMC Sierra that was stopped at a red light. The Sierra was being driven by 55-year-old William Norris of Loretto, who tragically died at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner pronounced Norris dead shortly after emergency crews arrived. Baron sustained only minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital. Following his release, he was taken into custody on charges stemming from an earlier, unrelated incident that occurred before the crash.
Investigators have not yet revealed the nature of the prior incident involving Baron, but KSP confirmed that additional charges related to the deadly collision are expected. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, and troopers are working to piece together the full sequence of events that led to the fatal impact.
The intersection where the crash occurred remained closed for several hours on Saturday as police reconstructed the scene and gathered evidence. Both vehicles were towed, and traffic was rerouted while emergency crews cleared the area.
This tragedy has left the Loretto community mourning the sudden loss of William Norris, remembered by neighbors as a kind and hardworking man. Local officials are urging drivers to use caution at all times, especially when navigating busy intersections or traveling at high speeds.
Kentucky State Police are asking any witnesses or individuals with information about the crash or related incidents to contact their local post. As the investigation continues, authorities hope to bring full accountability and justice to the victim’s family.
